Stop- motion with Stikbots

Workshop Facilitator: Leopold Coleman (He/They/Them)

A stop-motion animation workshop that will explore film making, storytelling, set design, lighting, editing and voice narration.  

Participants will be introduced to the joy of stop-motion by a passionate, popular and prominent stiktuber who has been creating stop-motion short films, using stik bots since the age of 6. Leopold creates weekly episodes on their YouTube channel, Leopold films with stories about their stik bot gang, Blue, Purple and Green.

Compared to other filmmaking methods, stop motion animation offers an unrivaled outlet for artistic expression.

Animators can really challenge their imaginations by creating one-of-a-kind works of art while enjoying a real sense of accomplishment once the job is done.

About the Facilitator: 

 Leopold is a 1st year student at Wilfrid Laurier who plans on pursuing a teaching degree with a special interest in Kindergarten. Leopold is also a camp leader in our play lab summer camp program and has run many popular art workshops and created and facilitated our first animation program which only ended due to University. Leopold loves sharing their passion for animation using stikbots and the stikbot community.
