When I opened this studio I had many parents tell

When I opened this studio I had many parents tell me their child wasn’t into Art and dismissed my space altogether.

Believing that a child is not into Art because they don’t like to sit and draw or paint or craft is unfortunately because that is the way Art has been presented to young children for a longtime.

If you were to step into our space you will witness Art for young children presented in a different way, a way that meets them where they are, and does not expect them to sit and make Art the way the grown ups do.

All children are natural artists and creative thinkers, and after twelve years of running my studio I’m more convinced of this than ever before, as I witness all ages and interests of children at play here in the studio, they show me every day that every child is into Art, we just have to expand our idea of what Art is, and how it is created.

Because true Art comes from the soul of the person and never from step by step instructions. Art is play. Art is process. Art is discovery and invention. Art is for every child.

Christina, Our Frida’s Friends facilitator is a master at nurturing the naturally occurring wonder for wee ones.

Frida’s is geared for little ones age 18 months to 3 yrs and it runs every month! There are many days and times to choose from!

It’s a great program to begin your art factory journey and it only gets better from here❤️

The joy of moonsand❤️ Sculpting cakes and cass

The joy of moonsand❤️ Sculpting cakes and casseroles for the sock monkeys was a favourite in both the morning and afternoon session today.

I even managed to capture some moonsand baking in action through the window…

As you can see, sock monkeys are easy going guests to prepare meals for, as long as you set a fine table and serve with style❤️

Full gear provided, including goggles! Children will participate in a process based performance art spectacle using tempera powder to colour the environment with brightness and beauty!

The resulting artwork will be a sight to see and might very well include themselves.

We will be using powdered tempera paint as a base, which is non toxic and safe for the environment.

This fully immersive and outside the box art workshop will be wonderful and memorable…and dare I say…a truly “artful experience” for lucky participants!

Roller painting with all the colours and we don’t mind when the colours mix!

So much fun to paint on our giant metal easels using something other than paintbrushes for mark making… and we find by adding squeegees, the possibilities become endless as it wipes the paint off so easily too!
